Safe, Supported Stair Transfers

The Equipmed SureMotion Stair Climber is designed to help carers move passengers safely and confidently on stairs, reducing physical strain while maintaining comfort and dignity. Its powered track system delivers smooth, controlled movement both ascending and descending.

Steady, Controlled Performance

Climbing at up to 46 steps per minute and descending at up to 55 steps per minute, SureMotion maintains consistent contact with each stair through its 3.2cm wide rubber track system. Adjustable speed settings allow carers to move at a pace that feels safe and reassuring.

Reliable Lithium Power

A 24V 13Ah lithium battery provides up to 500 steps per charge under load. With both onboard and removable charging options, power management remains convenient in home or facility environments.

Built Around Safety and Comfort

A secure 4-point harness keeps passengers safely positioned during transfer, while the height-adjustable handle supports better posture and control for the operator. The strong aluminium alloy frame supports users up to 169kg and folds compactly for transport and storage.

Practical Everyday Mobility

Large 10-inch rear wheels and smooth-rolling 5-inch front wheels allow easy navigation across corridors and landings before stair engagement. Soft cloth seat and backrest cushions provide added comfort during movement.

Engineered for aged care facilities, in-home support and assisted mobility environments, the Equipmed SureMotion Stair Climber delivers dependable performance when reassurance and safety matter most.

This stair climber is a practical solution if you need to move someone safely up or down stairs where a lift or ramp isn't an option. The powered track system does the lifting work, climbing at up to 46 steps per minute with a 4-point harness and adjustable speed keeping the passenger secure and the pace controlled. It's well-suited to straight staircases in homes and care settings, and the foldable aluminium frame makes it easy to store and transport between locations. Worth noting that it still relies on a confident operator to guide and balance it, particularly on landings or tight turns, so it works best where a capable carer is on hand.

Short answer is yes, it does climb up and down stairs, well.

I had to do a few test runs on our carpeted internal stairs that have a turn/landing. Seven stairs, a landing, then another seven stairs. My first run was with a person who weighed 70kg, then another who is 90kg.

Fortunately, I am strong enough to operate the climber on my own, however if someone isn't particularly strong, the climber would require two people.

Once the climber is descending, it tends to pull the operator into a low angle. I found I had to let the climber descend slowly with one hand and hold the banister with the other.

The trouble was the tight turn on the landing. It took a bit of back and forth to get the climber to turn for the final descent. Going up was a lot easier, but it still required me to be bent over at a low angle.

To be honest? I wouldn't put anyone heavier than 110kg on it, or a "large-framed" person. Both people I had on my climber were of average height and build. Even they were a struggle at times.

However, the climber serves the purpose I need it for. As I said, if someone isn't physically strong or fit. The climber will be a challenge to use. Even on a straight up and down set of stairs.
