The Sorbsan Flat is a wound dressing product which is made of calcium alginate. When calcium alginate contacts the wound, it swells and forms an amorphous alginate gel which is capable of drawing contaminated bacteria and the pus formed in the wound into the dressing. The dressing can be used on both acute and chronic wounds. The small size of Sorbsan Flat is available in 5 X 5cm while the medium and large size dressings are available in 10 x 10cm and 10 x 20cm.
The Sorbsan Plus Carbon is provided with secondary absorbent layer besides calcium alginate layer to help absorb excess pus formed around the wound. The carbon fabric of the dressing helps to absorb the odour from the exudate. These dressings are available in various sizes such as 7.5 X 10cm, 10 x 15cm, 10 x 20cm and 15 x 20cm. The Aquaform Gel consists of amorphous hydrogel that rehydrates the tissues around the wound by creating a 'moist wound environment'. The product can be used for wounds with medium to no exudate levels.
