The company supplies two types of surgical lasers including LS 1 - 630nm diode lasers and LS 2 - 810nm diode surgical lasers. LS 1 - 630nm diode lasers are used mostly in photodynamic therapy applications and are minimally invasive therapy systems. Photodynamic therapy is a process wherein the patient is given a photosensitising drug and the surgical laser selectively destroys the targeted tissues marked by the fluid. Photodynamic therapy, otherwise known as PDT therapy is largely used to treat patients who suffer from oesophageal cancer. Patients with partially or completely obstructed esophageal cancer conditions are treated more successfully with PDT therapy than conventional laser therapy. These surgical lasers are also used to treat patients with partially or completely obstructing endobronchial nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
