Started more than 150 years ago, Smith & Nephew provide innovative medical and surgical products for their customers.

Acticoat Antimicrobial Barrier Dressings provided by Smith & Nephew act as effective anti microbial dressings to destroy a wide range of bacteria. They come with a Nanocrystalline coating of silver that provide effective microbial resistance to wounds and dressings. Acticoat Antimicrobial Barrier Dressings feature three different layers in which an inner absorbent core is surrounded by two layers of polyethylene net coated with silver nanoparticles. The silver coating protects the wounds from bacterial invasion while the inner layer helps to maintain the moisture that is required in the healing of wound and more. Acticoat Antimicrobial Barrier Dressings exhibit resistance to a wide range of bacterial pathogens ranging from the gram positive to gram negative bacteria and other fungal pathogens that reside in the wounds. These dressings provide a consistent release of silver for up to 3 days that helps to heal the wounds faster. Acticoat Antimicrobial Barrier Dressings are easy to use and easy to remove when compared to the conventional SSD bandages.
