Scan Optics specialises in a range of ophthalmic systems used in clinical and surgical environments. The company offers ophthalmic microscopes, surgical lights, slit lamps and ophthalmoscopes apart from a range of accessories. SO-801 slit lamps are handheld lamps designed with slit, rectangular and disc apertures to meet a wide range of examination applications. These slit lamps are provided with cobalt blue and red free filters. The slit lamps are equipped with a powerful viewing eye-piece that facilitates examinations in high resolution. Slit lamps use an internal Li-ion rechargeable battery pack as a power source that provides 60 minutes of continuous use.
Standard parts of these slit lamp kits include a carrying case, slit lamp with battery handle, spare lamp, battery charger and spare battery. Optional parts include external power handle and power supply, spare battery pack, lamps and fuse. These slit lamps are operated by selecting the appropriate aperture from the three apertures provided. Slit apertures come in dimensions of 0.8mm x 13mm and are used for the examination of the corneal stroma. Rectangular apertures have a size of 1.8mm x 3.5mm and find application in the examination of corneal surfaces as well as providing separated images of the corneal, iris and lens surfaces that help in the detection of anterior chamber flare. Disk apertures have a 3mm diameter and provide a high intensity beam for maximum reflected scatter. Accessories provided with these slit lamps include slit lamp modules, mains power adapters and digital camera adapters.
