Protec Dental Technologies specialises in a comprehensive range of dental equipment including dental lasers, digital radiography systems and dental autoclaves. Their dental X-ray systems feature digital sensors and can be used in both horizontal as well as vertical positions capturing up to three molars in a single exposure. Images can be captured in 800 x 640 pixel resolution using these digital dental X-ray systems, and can be automatically compressed for storage on the hard drive. The digital images captured by these dental radiography systems are similar in size to normal X-ray film images measuring 32mm x 25.6mm. These dental X-ray systems include unique round edged CCD sensors, PCMCIA boards that can be plugged either into laptops or desktop computers as well as integrated software. These dental X-ray systems can function as standalone units that do not need an external power source.
Dental X-ray systems comprise of anterior and posterior biteblocks, bitewing holders, endo holders and a positioning kit. Anterior biteblocks are used for the front teeth together with the positioning kit to align the X-ray head. The posterior biteblocks are used for molars and the horizontal as well as vertical bitewings are used to position the X-ray head. Endo holders are useful for capturing single tooth images including those of upper molars. These digital X-ray systems have been designed to improve patient comfort, save positioning time and reduce the need for additional X-ray image exposures.
