Selenium pellets provided by Pharmplex is available in the form of 10g pellets. Each pellet contains 0.5g of selenium and is used for oral administration. The selenium deficiency in sheep is diagnosed when the young lambs suffer from white muscle disease and when the young ones ill thrift. Reduced growth of wool and periodontal disease occurs in sheep, when they suffer from selenium deficiency. This deficiency is also a cause for poor growth of young ones. To overcome this disease, each animal is administered with one selenium pellet every year. The dose is repeated for regularly breeding animals. Administration of the medicine increases 4% to 20% weight in the animals and also improves their reproduction capability. Also a marked increase from 5 to 15% is observed in wool growth.
Selenium pellets are available in 100 pellet packs or in bulk quantities. The shelf life of this product is estimated to be three years when stored in a dry place at 30º C room temperature.
