Micronix is a provider of products, such as Cortrak and Cathrite systems. They offer innovative technologies that support catheter placements made anywhere in the body.
Cathrite Systems offered by Micronix are fully portable catheter placement systems, and these systems are battery operated. For central venous catheters (CVCs), these Cathrite Units act as placement systems. Peripherally Inserted Cardiac Catheters (PICCs) are targeted by these systems. A disposable kit containing a guiding insert, a catheter and other low value ancillary items is used by every CVC placement performed using these catheter placement systems offered by Micronix. The electromagnetic signal of low energy generated by the guiding insert is received by the RU placed on the patient’s chest. The EMF signal is processed and as placement occurs, the movement of the catheter is displayed in real time by the MU.
For inclusion into the patient's case notes, the record of placement is printed out. The guiding insert is removed from the catheter and discarded after the completion of placement. In any hospital environment, these Cathrite Systems can be used at a patient’s bedside.
