Marco D'Polo Pty are providers of diagnostic instruments, bandages, defibrillator systems, ultrasound devices and surgical loupes to clients in Australia. Based in Ingleburn, Australia, the company also provides the 1'' x 3'' and 10 mm x 12 mm Hemcon Dental Dressings.
These Hemcon dental dressings are oral wound dressings used as a physical barrier for temporary protection of oral mucosal tissue and to provide pain relief. These dressings are designed for use by oral surgeons, periodontists and general practitioners to aid in extractions, and other oral trauma and surgery procedures. The chitosan in these dental dressings have a positive charge and attracts red blood cells with negative charge. The red blood cells create a seal over wound as they are drawn into the dressing and stabilise the wound surface. These dressings can be trimmed to fit any bleeding wound. These dressings usually dissolve within 48 hours, but they may take up to seven days. At seven days, the wound site can be irrigated to ensure removal of any residual material.
10mm x 12mm dressings are packaged either with one or four per sealed foil pouch. If performing a full molar or multiple extractions one will want the four-pack. For single tooth extractions or gingival grafts, one will use the one-pack. 1'' x 3'' dressings are packed individually in boxes of 12. The product is suitable to cut for a custom fit. All dressings are delivered sterile and are ready for use.
