Mepilex Border, from Economedical , is a foam dressing for advanced wound care as it effectively absorbs and retains exudate, whilst maintaining a moist wound environment. The Safetac layer seals the wound edges so that the wound doesn’t leak onto the patient’s surrounding skin and increase the risk of maceration.
Mapilex Border is most suitable for use on exuding wounds such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and traumatic wounds, e.g. skin tears and secondarily healing wounds. The dressing minimises pain and trauma when needing to be changed. It can also be lifted and adjusted and maintain its adherent properties.
The dressing can used under compression bandages, is waterproof and does not irritate the skin or cause allergies.
