Coloplast offer a variety of wound care dressings including the Comfeel Plus Pressure Relieving Dressing that are used in the treatment of pressure ulcers such as specialists matresses / beds, therapeutic patient turning schedules and other specialist measures. The dressings are designed for use with low to medium exuding wounds and can provide some reduction and redistribution in the local pressure load applied to the skin.

The dressings are hydrocolloid based and covered in a 6mm thick foam layer, that contains three central concentric rings which can be removed to match the size of the pressure ulcer beneath. The dressing, when applied to the wound utilises the remaining foam rings as a cushion around the ulcer region. This allows for a reduction of pressure around the wound tissue. The dressings also contain CMC and alginate which are used for absorption of exudate. It has an intelligent top film - for effective exudate management Is water, bacteria and virus proof - including MRSA and HIV.
