The Oxycycles and Activecycles from Chestercare Pty Ltd have been designed to strengthen arms and legs in the comfort of one’s own home.
Exercising on a regular basis, muscles adjust to the new level of work. This is called increasing local metabolic efficiency and as a result of this, muscles work better and become stronger. However, from time to time it is necessary to increase the frequency and/or duration of the exercise routine in order to improve the fitness level. This can be achieved with Chestercare’s Oxycycles and Activecycles.
These pedal exercisers are self powered for passive training but can also be used actively. They can be used both for upper and lower body exercise. As lower body cycles, they work with passive motion to increase tone of the quadriceps muscles (muscles in the thigh) and circulate blood flow to the entire lower leg and foot. For upper body use, these cycles perform as resistance devices allowing the use to use the pedals as hand grips.
The speed control drives the pedals at a speed suitable for the individual. This gentle exercise can benefit people during any rehabilitation programme and it can be used sitting or lying for lower extremity exercise, as well as on a tabletop to exercise upper extremity.
Designed to function as home use exercise device, the motorised Oxycycles pedal exercisers offer a remote control console, adjustable speed and multifunction LCD display readout for distance, time, calorie and speed.
Users must have full control of their muscles to operate this unit. It may not be suitable for people who are quadriplegic or paraplegic.
