The Division of Research (previously Graduate Research College)at the Centre for Animal Conservation Genetics was established on 1st January, 1993 to support Research and Research Training at Southern Cross University. The Division of Research, in line with the University's Mission, concentrates on developing research activities in fields of national and international significance where it can draw upon local resources and opportunities, and in return make a significant contribution to the North Coast region.
The DoR provides leadership and support for research and research training across the whole University. It ensures quality in the following areas:
- Postgraduate research candidate recruitment
- Supervision
- Examination and support
- Acts to remove barriers wherever possible to research candidates achieving their goals
The Division is responsible for administering policies and rules as they relate to Research and Research Training. This is done through the Research and Research Training Advisory Committee (RRTAC), a sub committee of the Academic Board of the University, and the Higher Degrees Committee (Research). The Division is also responsible for supporting business development in research including grants, research contracts, scholarships, reporting and other sources of research funding.
