Managing Director of Britex , Cam Risstrom says, “From a technical standard and quality assurance perspective, WaterMark is the most important certification for stainless steel urinals.
"The criteria that must be met to obtain WaterMark certification for stainless steel urinals is by far and away the most thorough and comprehensive of any and provides specifiers the greatest assurance of product quality, compliance with Australian Standards and compatibility with other plumbing fixtures.”
By way of the certification process, WELS certification provides an insight into the water usage of stainless steel urinals. In this regard, it provides something that WaterMark doesn’t and Britex urinals achieve industry leading water conservation ratings.
Cam adds, “With the Australian market currently seeing an influx of imported stainless steel products - WaterMark certification is without doubt the most important safeguard the specification fraternity has when selecting stainless steel urinals. Without WaterMark certification, there are simply no guarantees of quality and design compliance.
"For this reason, specifiers are well served in setting WaterMark certification as a mandatory requirement for urinals, toilet pans and cisterns – as they may even be including WaterMark certification in project specification text where relevant."
