Aurora BioScience is located in Australia. They deal in various products like automatic blood pressure monitors, vital sign monitors, ambulatory blood pressure monitor, manual blood pressure monitors and ear thermometers. They provide medical devices and home healthcare products to various medical professionals.
The Intravascular Temperature Management Products offered by Aurora BioScience Ltd represents a novel approach to controlling patient's temperature. They use the conventional temperature management therapy that involves the use of surface methods including ice packs and cooling and warming blankets. These methods are primitive, labour-intensive, difficult to control and often ineffective. Intravascular Temperature Management Products allow caregivers the ability to manage core body temperature more effectively and efficiently.
These products are designed for placement in the central venous system. Via a proprietary, ‘closed loop’ internal cooling circuit, the catheter cools or warms the patient's blood as it circulates past the catheter. These catheters are attached to a thermal regulation system, an electronic cooling system that regulates the cooling performance of the catheter via remote sensing of the patient's temperature. These catheters are also designed to facilitate critical care management with features similar to those found in conventional central venous catheters. All heat exchange catheters are connected to the thermal regulation system, which achieves and maintains a target temperature input by the user. They remotely sense all changes in patient core temperature and automatically adjusts the temperature of the circulating saline within the catheter (0-42°C), providing consistent maintenance of temperature.
