Athlegen , a Ballarat-based company, has been given the title of official supplier of massage and treatment tables to the Australian Olympic Winter Team during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Athlegen tables will be situated both at the Australian team’s central treatment location in Vancouver and sub-sites at Whistler and Cypress Mountain from the 12-18 of February; the duration of the Games. The Australian team will also use Athlegen portable tables while travelling in the lead-up to Vancouver.
The team’s physiotherapist Peter Hogg said the locally designed tables were a natural choice for Vancouver, offering strength, comfort and reliability to physiotherapists and athletes alike. “The Athlegen range includes a variety of plinth shapes and configurations to meet the needs of our diverse team of athletes,” said Hogg. “The wide base of the tables makes them ideal for spinal manipulation and deep tissue work, and features such as the adjustable face cradle ensure athletes remain comfortable during treatment sessions.”
The naming of Athlegen as official supplier for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games continues a long and successful association between the design and manufacturing company and the Australian Olympic Team.
This isn’t the first time Athlegen has been associated with Australian Olympic Team as the company provided massage and treatment tables to Australian athletes at the past four Olympic Games, starting with Atlanta in 1996. Athlegen was also one of 12 winners of the Win Business Gold in China competition launched by Telstra and Austrade to help Australian small businesses build export contacts during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
“Athlegen products are designed and manufactured to meet the high performance demands of elite athletes and we are very proud that our massage and treatment tables have again been chosen by the Australian Olympic Winter Team as it goes for gold in Vancouver,” said Jeffrey Toering, New Business and Product Development Manager of Athlegen.
