The Aidacare group has acquired the Medco Medical Sales & Services organisation in Hobart that specialises in CASE (Customised and Specialised Equipment) service and equipment.
This healthcare business initiative announced recently for Tasmania is expected to result in enhanced services for people living with disabilities as well as better support for the physiotherapy, rehabilitation and hospital professionals caring for them with the additional resources.
According to Aidacare Director Mr Sam Garland, the acquisition expands the resources of the Aidacare group in Tasmania, which with offices in Hobart and Launceston, now becomes the only CASE specialist in Tasmania with a true north and south footprint, enabling them to deliver comprehensive CASE rehabilitation services to therapists and whole-of-state solutions to government.
With the addition of the Medco staff, the Aidacare team in Tasmania expands to 12 facilitating enhanced response times to occupational therapists and aged-care facilities in the north and the south.
The Aidacare Group is a family-run organisation comprising 15 of its own locations and 40 partner network locations in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania, and employing over 160 staff members.
Medco’s previous owner, Peter Norman who will continue with Aidacare says the move is a win-win situation for Tasmania.
Based on his experience with Medco, he comments that the key to success in the rehabilitation market is outstanding service, which the merged organisation will continue to deliver with their greatly enhanced customer focus and a large resource base.
Aidacare brings together the skills, industry knowledge and credibility of its team of more than 160 dedicated specialist staff including those drawn from the former Medco, Admed, Lifestyle and Rehabilitation, CVMS and State Medical Tasmania organisations.
