Aidacare has been appointed by the Department of Veterans Affairs as a contracted provider for its Mobility and Functional Support (MFS) programme that assists thousands of veterans throughout Australia every year.
The family-run Aidacare group is a care organisation and one of five national contracted providers for the new MFS contract of the DVA, which provides for the healthcare of about 263,000 veterans, war widows and widowers and other entitled people throughout the country.
The new MFS model aims to ensure that veterans have access to consistent, high quality, clinically appropriate aids or appliance services through contractual arrangements.
According to Shane Walker, GM Marketing Manager, Aidacare, with their experienced staff and partner teams operating at over 60 showroom and office locations across all states and territories, the company is ideally placed to provide localised and personalised service to meet the specialised needs of MFA clients.
Maintaining frontline customer service excellence as the priority business focus at each location, Aidacare’s business model provides for service to prescriber and DVA client to be completed in the first instance by local teams at every opportunity.
Operating through single phone and fax contacts for the cost of a local call as well as a single email address, the system directs callers to frontline staff who will service the local DVA client.
Aidacare offers a large and diverse range of more than 3400 individual line items spanning the entire MFS range within the DVA’s Rehabilitation Appliances Programme, RAP, which assists entitled persons to be as independent and self-reliant as possible in their own homes.
MFS products range from eating utensils, walking aids, chairs, wheelchairs and electric scooters through to powered adjustable beds and home modifications.
Aidacare stocks more than $5 million worth of new stock and another $3 million worth of hire stock in its network of warehouse and distribution centres.
