They are fitted with a lithium 9 volt battery which has a 5 year lifespan. Defibtech Defibrillator AEDs approximately weigh 4.2 lbs and can be easily carried through the rubber handle provided. There is a text display with lights for user’s convenience. A calm voice provides a step by step guidance. They use biphasic defibrillation technology which is useful for resuscitating patients in ventricular fibrillation. The electrode pads are placed in a back pocket. Other features include large, brightly lit power on/shock buttons and a soft carrying case with basic life support equipment.
